Love PDFs by Atiliay.comThese Love PDFs are now available with 100% of profits supporting ACLU, American Civil Liberties Union, and the very important work they do! I was planning on releasing this collection when all the pieces were complete but really felt the call to act now.

We are all human beings and I strongly believe we need to act from a place of compassion and understanding and not from a place of fear, greed, prejudice, or hate.

These designs were inspired by love and the belief that everyone should be free to love who they love.

Each design is available for $5 as a downloadable PDF and all profits will be donated to ACLU to support their work in LGBT rights, immigrants’ rights, women’s rights, human rights, and more. Once you purchase the item, you will automatically be emailed a link for the PDF which you can print and use immediately. They are formatted to fit on a regular piece of paper so you can easily print from your home or office.

In the next few weeks I hope to release more designs for this collection.
Thank you for your support!

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts expressing disappointment, frustration, sadness, and anger today. If you’ve been feeling that way–or even if you’re not, I hope you will join me and turn it into/participate in an act of kindness. I recently learned about a wonderful organization called Uplift Charity through my wonderful friend Saira. They are based in Anaheim, CA and assist an average of 85 refugee families every month–most of which arrive from Syria and Iraq. Uplift Charity is collecting essential household supplies for these families and I hope you will join me in donating much needed items listed on the flier below.
I am collecting items for this supply drive throughout the next few weeks. Please take a look at the list and see if there is something you can provide–just one toothbrush or one pack of diapers can help! If you are in the Orange County area, you are more than welcome to drop off items at my house or I can come pick it up as well. If you are in the South Bay area or further, I am thinking of scheduling a day to do a pick up. At the end of the month I will take donations to UC’s drop off spot. From there, they will distribute the items to the families they are assisting. Please share with your family and friends–the more supplies we can get the better!
I know many of us, myself included, were outraged and upset by all the hate speech and acts of racism and intolerance that have been happening lately. What better way to protest against that than by welcoming and supporting those who need our help? Many of us have read about the events happening in Syria and wanted to help–here is an opportunity to do that! I also know many of us can relate to being an immigrant or a refugee or have family members/friends who are. I’d like to think that if we found ourselves in that situation, there would be kind and generous people who would want to help us.

We might not be able to change the way others may think or act–but we can choose to do something positive to show tolerance and support for our fellow human beings regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation. Thank you so much in advance!

Priyanka's Story

Priyanka was born into extreme poverty in a Calcutta red light district.  She was raised in a brothel where she was exposed to constant danger and outcast by society.  Eventually, her mother sent her to a shelter to keep her from being trafficked and forced into prostitution. At age 18, Priyanka joined the Made By Survivors jewelry team.  She worked hard during the intensive year of training, becoming one of our most accomplished goldsmiths and designers.  The training and the loving atmosphere of the jewelry center were healing for Priyanka and helped build up her damaged self-esteem.

Priyanka takes pride in having several designs in our new Relevee Jewelry collection and in being one of the top producers and earners in her studio.  Her dream is to become a jewelry trainer so she can share this gift with other women in need.

Priyanka is now ready to move out of the shelter and support herself independently.  She is also pulling her mom out of the red light district so they can both live in safety and dignity.

100% of proceeds from The Relevee Benefit will be donated to Made By Survivors to help them train more women in the art of jewelry making as well as heal them, give them a way to create a living, allow them to support themselves and their families, and break the cycle of poverty.

In the past years I have learned and read a lot about human trafficking, specifically girls and women who become victims of sexual slavery.  Last Christmas, I bought a book called This is No Ordinary Joy which is the story of Sarah Symons, founder of Made by Survivors.  It made me cry, it made me angry, it made me laugh, it made me hopeful– it was truly inspiring to read about Sarah’s journey from knowing nothing about human trafficking to creating a way to help as well as the stories of survival and hope.  I think about the women I read about in that book often.

As I approach my 30th birthday on September 2nd, it made me think about how many girls and women will never see their 30th year.  As sad as this reality is, we do have the power to try to change that and help ensure they do live to be 30– and much longer! Please join me in raising awareness and funds through the Relevee Benefit and create a positive change!

Nature inspired wrapping by

I’m excited to be manning a gift wrapping station at this Saturday’s CityStage Holiday Showcase fundraising event!  It’s happening at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland, and here is a peek at how the gift wrapping will be done!

You can choose from white or kraft wrapping paper, tied with natural twine, and topped with cedar sprigs, gold/red/silver sparkling ornament balls, and/or pine cones!  Suggested donation is $3 which will go to support CityStage!  Read more about them here.

I’ve been working on gluing them onto branches today, but need to go to the park to get some more branches…I’ve been taking them from our trees in the backyard but don’t want to take them all.  I am loving this project since it’s filling the home with holiday smells like cinnamon and cedar!

Hope to see you there!
