Arisa + Luke's Wedding Cake

I am so happy to be able to be part of such a beautiful celebration of this gorgeous couple’s love via cake! :)  This was a 3 tiered lemon cake with cream cheese frosting and it was all vegan!  The cake is finished with gold trim and fresh white orchids.

Photographs are courtesy of Erich Chen Photography and for the full wedding post, visit Erich Chen Photography’s blog (there are so many breathtaking photos, if you love weddings, you must check it out)!  I also want to mention how beautiful the venue is–  I scoped out the scene the night before to get ready for the delivery and we drove up to trees lit up with flowing lights dangling down from the branches, the best word to describe it was enchanting!

I also wanted to share with you that this will be the last cake order I will be fulfilling– I am officially retiring from the world of cakes to focus on creating paper goods and sharing vegan recipes and ideas on this blog! But I am really happy with how this turned out and being able to be part of Arisa and Luke’s special day.

Hope you enjoy and thank you to all of you who have been so supportive of my cake venture from day 1, 6 years ago!  It is greatly appreciated.  It has been a really fun, stressful, and interesting journey that has allowed me to experience lots of new opportunities and meet wonderful people!  If you’d like to see my previous cakes, they will still be up over at the cake blog:

I leave you with a photo tutorial of how you cut a wedding cake:

Uh oh! Someone is in trouble!

And of course I had to include a picture of the beautiful lights,  I love how the glow softly lights up their silhouettes!

Beautiful couple, beautiful lighting

Congrats Arisa + Luke!  Wishing you both many years of laughter, love, and happiness!

Music Note Recipe Cards

Music Themed Recipe Card + Custom Stamp

Music Themed Recipe Card & Custom Stamp

I recently received a request for music themed recipe cards for a bridal shower and had a lot of fun designing it!  Each card is reminiscent of sheet music and the top edge is adorned with block printed music notes.  Now with the help of her friends, this bride will be making music in the kitchen!

This order also included a custom 4″ x 2″ vertical music notes / symbol stamp– I am excited to see what is created with it!

In honor of the bride-to-be, a portion of proceeds will from these recipe cards will be donated to The American Cancer Society.  I am glad we are able to contribute to and support the fight against cancer.

Wishing Christina an amazing bridal shower and thank you Cherish for this order!

Block print + watercolor bridal shower invites with matching recipe cards

Block print + watercolor bridal shower invites

Handmade bridal shower invitations with recipe cards

I am really excited to share with you a new project I just finished working on!  They are floral and butterfly bridal shower invites that are individually block printed and finished with watercolors.  They also come with matching recipe cards and envelopes stamped with a matching butterfly.

It was great working with the Maid of Honor to come up with a product that really reflects the Bride for her special day- that process and making an item unique is definitely one of my favorite parts of any project!  We incorporated butterflies because they have a special meaning for the Bride and her grandmother.  Yellow is her favorite color and the Bridesmaid dresses are a a pinkish burgundy color so we added those in the watercolors.

We also wanted to carry out the food / recipe theme throughout the items and I really liked the way the Maid of Honor incorporated it into the text on the invitations.  We also decided to relate the donation aspect of this project back to food as well.  I will be donating 10% of proceeds to the North Texas Food Bank in honor of this Texan Bride-to-be!  The North Texas Food Bank’s mission is to pursue a hunger-free community.  The donation will help to provide 32 meals that will be delivered to children, seniors, and families within North Texas.  I am really happy to be able to make this donation and that it was made possible by such a wonderful celebration!

I truly loved making these and making sure every guests receives something that is hand made with thought and love.  Hope you enjoy them as well!
