1. SOME SOUND ADVICE
It’s been a stressful few months and tough couple of weeks–my cat Samone has been having health issues and we’ve been trying to figure out what’s wrong and how to help her. She’s gone through a bunch of tests and realistically, it doesn’t seem like I have much more time with her. 😭 💔 A few more months at the least and 3+ months if I am lucky. I think I am currently in denial, hoping for the best, and deep down inside preparing for the worst. I was telling my friend Claire about the situation and she shared some wise words with me:
Try to remember that our pets don’t know what the future holds and therefore aren’t worrying about it. They always simply adapt to whatever they’re going through that day.
I’ve never thought about it that way and this perspective made me feel better. It’s just one of the many lessons we can learn from animals–they truly know how to live in the moment.
I wanted to share these words with you in case you are going through something similar or know somebody who is. Maybe these words can help bring some comfort your way.
My goal in life right now is to give Samone as many moments as I can filled with yummy food and treats, cuddles, chin scratches, naps in the sun, and love.
Here’s sweet Samone’s first day home <3 and one of my favorite photos of her below.
2. A SONG OF WRAITHS AND RUIN BY ROSEANNE A. BROWN
My copy of this book finally came in the mail! I have been patiently waiting it’s arrival so that I can dive into this magical story inspired by fantasy and folklore. Learn more about author, her work, and this book, over on her site: roseanneabrown.com. Did I mention that the book cover is absolutely GORGEOUS?! Pic below!
I am already captivated by the very first line, “Abraa! Abraa! Come and gather–a story is about to begin!”
3. IT’S A WRAP!
I can’t believe it but The 100 Day Project is donezo and my 100 Days of Alphabet Connections is complete! You can find my very last connection here and I also shared 7 tips for a successful 100 day project. Did you participate this year? How were these past 100 days for you? I’d love to hear about your experience with it!
4. A BEAUTIFUL STRUGGLE
Read this beautiful post by Dr. Elvis Francois. We tend to share the wins and the successes but there is something beautiful in the struggle that got us to where we are today. Let’s share more of those stories. Photo below is one of the images from Dr. Elvis Francois’ Instagram post.
5. LOOK UP AT THE CLOUDS
There is something comforting to me about looking up at the sky and at the clouds above us. I can never capture how beautiful they are in photos but I still can’t help myself from snapping some pics.
