Inktober 2020 by Olivia of

WE REACHED THE FINISH LINE! Here’s my last page of Inktober!

Wow, I can’t believe it’s already day 31! When we first started, the idea of doing all the prompts was a little daunting and it seemed like it’d take a long time to get to the end! But in reality, it flew by.

My favorite part was looking up what the day’s prompt was and trying to figure out how to translate it into lettering. Which definition of the word should I use? How do I want it to feel? What’s the look I’m going for? This year I tried to go outside of what I normally do and experiment more with different forms and shapes as well as add more drawings.

If you had asked me to draw 4 pages of letters this month, it would have felt like too much. But breaking it down into 1 (or 2 if I was a little behind!) drawings a day was completely doable. I enjoyed this project so much and creating just for the fun of it!

Here’s a look back at all the prompts!

If you’re interested in joining in, Inktober continues on throughout the year in the form of Inktober52, one prompt a week. You can learn more here.

I am already thinking of Inktober 2021 and am excited to take on the challenge again–until next year!
